Minka Kelly Biography
Minka Kelly was born on June 24, 1980. She is the daughter of Rick Dufay, who was once a member of the band Aerosmith, and Maureen Kelly who was a former Las Vegas showgirl.
Minka Kelly, being exposed to her parent’s fame at an early age, learned to appreciate the talent that they possessed, and shortly after found herself imitating their showmanship. Not surprisingly, her talent for acting was then discovered. At a young age, Minka Kelly had her television debut on Nickelodeon's hit TV show "Drake and Josh." As she grew older, Minka learned to further appreciate acting, and planned on pursuing it as a career.
Minka attended school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she focused on acting by enrolling in acting classes. Her goal was to land a role, but more importantly, she wanted to be able to play it correctly. This drive for success is what opened new doors for her bright future.
Although Minka found herself fascinated with acting, she decided to have a back up plan just in case it did not work out for her. In post secondary school, she trained to become a surgical technician. However, while she was growing up, she wanted to find a career that would allow her to express and release her emotions. That’s the main reason why she selected acting as a full-time profession.
Minka then decided to move to LA with her father. There, she was able to land a role in her debut movie “Devil's Highway” in 2005. Critics found her acting to be outstanding in Devils Highway, which drove talent scouts “Minka Crazy!” She then landed roles in many other shows and films including “American Dreams,” “What I Like About You,” “The Pumpkin Karver,” “State’s Evidence,” “Friday Night Lights,” and her most recent feature film “The Kingdom” starring Jamie Foxx, and Minka Kelly as Ms. Ross.
Minka Visits Troops!
Minka Kelly, along with a few others, are currently in Cuba visiting troops from many different posts. Minka will be there until March 1st. Way to go Minka! Class all the way!
